A bus trip to Bismarck Saturday morning ended with the Grand Forks KnightRiders falling to the Bismarck Blizzard 6-1 in North Dakota High School Girls Hockey. A goal by Jessica Lee at the 3:07 mark of the first period is all the KnightRiders could score, as Bismarck knocked off six straight goals, coming away with the win in a pivotal game in the conference schedule. "We played a great first period," Head Coach Alex Hedlund said. "We had Bismarck on their heels." Three Blizzard goals put the Bismarck ladies ahead for good. "We dropped off after the first, and Bismarck elevated their play," Hedlund said. Grand Forks was 0-for-2 on the power play. "We need to be better on the power play against talented teams of this caliber," Hedlund said. "We allowed two shorthanded goals for Bismarck, which is unacceptable." Emilee Ziegler finished with 36 saves on 42 shots for the KnightRiders, who will host Crookston Monday at Eagles Arena, with faceoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
