The Grand Forks KnightRiders took on Fargo North-South Tuesday night at the Fargo Coliseum, and it was the Fargo co-op that took away the win 6-2 in conference play. Katelyn Arman's goal at the 8:17 mark of the first period was enough for Fargo North-South, who, with the win, took the season series against the road warrior KnightRiders. Not all was lost in the game, as Morgan Stenseth found the back of the net just 16 seconds into the contest. "We jumped on them quick," head coach Alex Hedlund said. "It was a good first, but we let North-South beat us to pucks, and spent too much time in our house." The KnightRiders' second goal was a Katelin Peterson goal at the 4:27 mark of the middle period. The KnightRiders were held to just 14 shots on goal, with 13 of them coming in the first two periods. Kaylee Baker faced 46 shots in the contest, stopping 40 of them. "Baker saw a lot of pucks," Hedlund said. "We need to decrease that if we see them again." The KnightRiders were penalized five times and allowed one powerplay goal for Fargo North-South. "I thought our penalty kill was solid tonight," Hedlund said. The KnightRiders drop to 9-8 overall, 7-6 in the state standings. They will host Mandan on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eagles Arena in Grand Forks. Earlier this season, the KnightRiders defeated Mandan, on the road, 4-2.
