The Grand Forks KnightRiders opened up the 2018-2019 season at home against the Fargo Davies Eagles at Eagles Arena in Grand Forks, falling to Davies 6-0 in the season, and conference, opener. It was a night that saw Fargo Davies' Ali Matter rack up four points in the contest, figuring in for two goals and two assists. Fargo Davies got on the board at the 4:40 mark of the first period, when a streaking Paige Hanson found Matter, who found the back of the net, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Two more goals in the first, coupled with two in the second, put the Eagles ahead 5-0 heading into the final period. Emilee Ziegler was in net for the KnightRiders, stopping 29 of 35 shots for the team, who dropped to 0-1 in league play, and 0-1 overall. The KnightRiders were held to 12 shots on goal for the game.
