The second annual Stick It To Cancer event, which benefits the 'Filling The Gap' fund at Altru Cancer Center, saw the Grand Forks KnightRiders and Minot Majettes battle in a classic overtime game, one in which the KnightRiders defeated Minot 4-3 in overtime. The event raised over $19,000 for the Altru Health Foundation. The KnightRiders led 3-2 heading into the third period, but it was Kaya Shaw's goal with 3:37 left in the third period that gave the Majettes renewed life and sent the game into overtime. But, Kylie Autrey made sure the Majettes wouldn't take the KnightRiders special day, finishing off a pass from Katelin Peterson, putting it past Amber Borkhuis at the 1:42 mark of overtime, sending the Majettes back to Minot with a loss. Kendra Nordick finished with 14 saves on 17 shots. Lexi Laframboise and Emily Benson each had two assists to lead the KnightRiders.
