The second annual Stick It To Cancer event, which benefits the 'Filling The Gap' fund at Altru Cancer Center, saw the Grand Forks KnightRiders and Minot Majettes battle in a classic overtime game, one in which the KnightRiders defeated Minot 4-3 in overtime. The event raised over $19,000 for the Altru Health Foundation. The KnightRiders led 3-2 heading into the third period, but it was Kaya Shaw's goal with 3:37 left in the third period that gave the Majettes renewed life and sent the game into overtime. But, Kylie Autrey made sure the Majettes wouldn't take the KnightRiders special day, finishing off a pass from Katelin Peterson, putting it past Amber Borkhuis at the 1:42 mark of overtime, sending the Majettes back to Minot with a loss. Kendra Nordick finished with 14 saves on 17 shots. Lexi Laframboise and Emily Benson each had two assists to lead the KnightRiders.

The Grand Forks KnightRiders returned home after the Thanksgiving break to take on western rival Williston in a back-to-back homestand to end November at Eagles Arena, taking down the Coyotes 14-0 in conference play. "The 'we' in team was still there," KnightRider head coach Alex Hedlund said. "Front to back, I was really impressed with our performance." Several KnightRiders finished the game with multiple points, including Abby Schauer, who had three goals and three assists; Morgan Stenseth, who tallied three goals; and Katelin Peterson, who had one goal and three assists, among others. Just days after a 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Fargo Davies Eagles, the Grand Forks KnightRiders traveled to Quentin Burdick Arena in Devils Lake, taking down the Firebirds on the road by a final score of 4-3. Devils Lake jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the first period, with back-to- back goals by Kaylie Klemetsrud. That's when the KnightRiders took charge. At the 2:05 mark of the second period, Emily Benson scored an unassisted goal to cut the lead to 2-1. Then, four minutes later, Abby Schauer took a pass from Hannah Gray, shot it past Molly Black and made it 2-2. Less than three minutes later, Gray again connected, this time with Katelin Peterson, making it 3-2 in favor of the road KnightRiders. The score would stay 3-2 until late in the second, when a goal by Elle Black made it a tie game with 2:41 left in the second period. The teams would play back-and-forth for the majority of the beginning of period 3, but it was Schauer that put the KnightRiders ahead for good just five minutes into the third period. Kendra Nordick was the goalie for the KnightRiders, stopping 35 of 39 shots she faced. The KnightRiders improved to 1-1 on the season, and 1-1 in the conference. By Chris Larson
